<Kabar, a building technology company, has completed comprehensive installation works at a new fresh pet food production facility. The adaptation of an existing hall at the CTP logistics park in Zabrze required the reconfiguration of the building’s power supply and safety systems across an area of nearly 40,000 sqm.
The investment involved transforming a standard warehouse space into a production facility, adapting the building to the requirements of food manufacturing processes and the tenant’s technological needs. The works included the supply and installation of two 3,150 kVA transformers, a medium-voltage switchgear system, a main low-voltage switchboard, and capacitor banks. Two 5,000 A busbar systems with a total length of 220 metres were installed to supply power to the production lines.
“Technological fit-out for food production required the design of a complete internal infrastructure within an existing building from the ground up. The systems were redesigned to meet the technological requirements of the production process while maintaining BREEAM certification standards,” says Piotr Miodek, Vice President of the Kabar Group.
As part of the building safety systems, Kabar modernised and expanded the fire alarm installation using smoke detectors, beam detectors, and aspirating detection systems. Cold storage areas were equipped with “man trapped in freezer” safety systems. The works also included the installation of DALI lighting systems, industrial power sockets, and power supply systems for ventilation, air conditioning, and industrial doors.
The installation works also covered the 1,500 sqm office area and included the modernisation of the lightning protection system.
